The three Chinese medicines quinquefolii, millet vine and salvia miltiorrhiza are often used to treat chronic back and leg pain, mainly through the effects of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, relaxing muscles and tendons, and tonifying liver and kidney to relieve symptoms. The following is an explanation of their respective effects:

1. quinquefolii:

quinquefolii (also known as "quinquefolii") has the effects of removing rheumatism, unblocking meridians and relieving pain. It is mainly used to treat back and leg pain caused by rheumatism and cold dampness. Qianjinba helps relieve the pain in the waist and legs caused by the invasion of rheumatism and cold evil by dredging the meridians and removing the blockage of the tendons and veins. It is especially effective for patients with sore waist and knees and severe pain.

2. Millettia reticulata: Millettia reticulata has the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, relaxing muscles and activating collaterals. It can promote blood circulation and increase local blood flow, and has a good effect on low back and leg pain caused by poor blood circulation or blood stasis. Millettia reticulata is also believed to have the effect of nourishing the liver and kidneys, and can regulate the sore waist and knees caused by liver and kidney deficiency. It is suitable for patients with long-term strain or older age.

3. Salvia miltiorrhiza: Salvia miltiorrhiza is known for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis and improving blood circulation. It can help dilate blood vessels and improve local blood supply, thereby relieving pain caused by blood stasis. In addition, Salvia miltiorrhiza also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, and has a good effect on the treatment of chronic low back and leg pain caused by spinal degenerative lesions.

Comprehensive effect:

These three medicines work through different pathways and usually complement each other in the treatment of chronic low back and leg pain. Cnidium monnieri and Millettia reticulata relieve pain caused by poor blood circulation or rheumatism by dredging meridians, removing rheumatism, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, while Salvia miltiorrhiza further enhances the effect by promoting blood circulation and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. In addition, Millettia reticulata and Salvia miltiorrhiza also have the function of nourishing the liver and kidneys, which helps to improve the soreness of waist and legs caused by liver and kidney deficiency, and is suitable for some symptoms caused by long-term low back pain and kidney deficiency.

In short, Cnidium monnieri, Millettia reticulata and Salvia miltiorrhiza work together to improve blood circulation, dredge meridians and relieve pain, and relieve chronic low back and leg pain, especially for low back and leg pain caused by poor blood circulation, rheumatism, cold and dampness, liver and kidney deficiency, etc. Winter mushrooms (also known as shiitake mushrooms) are a common food ingredient and are sometimes considered to have certain medicinal value in traditional Chinese medicine, especially in regulating wind-cold-dampness arthralgia. Wind-cold-dampness arthralgia is caused by the invasion of wind, cold and dampness by three external evils into the human body, resulting in poor blood circulation and obstruction of tendons and veins, resulting in symptoms such as pain, soreness, and numbness.

Mechanism of winter mushrooms in treating wind-cold-dampness arthralgia:

1. Enhance immunity and expel external evil:

Winter mushrooms are rich in polysaccharides, which have the effect of enhancing the immune system. By improving the body's immunity, it can help the body resist the invasion of external evils such as wind-cold-dampness, reduce the impact of external evils on joints and tendons, and thus help prevent or alleviate the symptoms of wind-cold-dampness arthralgia.

2. Anti-inflammatory effect:

The active ingredients in winter mushrooms, such as lentinan and lentinic acid, have anti-inflammatory effects and can relieve the inflammatory response caused by wind-cold-dampness. Wind-cold-dampness arthralgia is usually accompanied by inflammation, pain and swelling in the joints, and the anti-inflammatory effect of winter mushrooms helps to alleviate these symptoms.

3. Relax muscles and activate collaterals, and eliminate rheumatism:

The theory of traditional Chinese medicine believes that wind-cold-dampness can block the meridians, leading to joint pain and limited movement. Winter mushrooms have a certain effect of relaxing muscles and activating collaterals, which can relieve stiffness and discomfort in the joints and help improve the pain caused by wind-cold-dampness.

4. Diuresis and Dampness: Wind-cold-dampness arthralgia is often accompanied by stagnation of water and dampness. Some ingredients in mushrooms have a slight diuretic effect, which can help promote the excretion of water in the body and reduce the burden of moisture on joints and muscles, thereby relieving pain and discomfort caused by dampness.

Pig trotters (also known as pig trotter tendons) are considered to have nourishing and bone strengthening effects in traditional Chinese medicine, and are often used to treat symptoms such as lower back and leg pain, joint pain, etc. Pig trotters are rich in collagen, elastin, and various trace elements, which help alleviate and treat lower back and leg pain caused by various reasons. They mainly work through the following mechanisms:

1. Nourish the liver and kidneys, strengthen muscles and bones

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, the liver and kidneys are the organs that dominate the muscles and bones. Only with sufficient kidney essence can the muscles and bones be strong. Pig trotters are rich in collagen, which can supplement the body's necessary nutrients and have a good regulating effect on lower back and leg pain caused by liver and kidney weakness. Long term consumption of pig trotters can help nourish the liver and kidneys, strengthen muscles and bones, and improve lower back and leg pain caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

2. Enhance joint toughness and lubrication

Pig trotters are rich in collagen and elastin, which can help improve the repair of joint cartilage, enhance joint toughness and elasticity. These ingredients can promote the secretion of joint fluid, increase joint lubrication, and alleviate pain and stiffness caused by joint degeneration or injury. Therefore, pig trotters can help alleviate lower back and leg pain caused by arthritis, rheumatism, and other conditions.

3. Promote blood circulation

The collagen in pig trotters can help improve blood circulation and enhance the elasticity of blood vessels. This helps alleviate lower back and leg pain caused by poor blood circulation, especially for pain caused by blood stasis. Pig trotters can help alleviate pain by improving local blood circulation.

4. Supplement minerals such as calcium and phosphorus

Pig trotters contain a high amount of minerals such as calcium and phosphorus, which are crucial for bone health. Calcium can enhance bone density and reduce pain caused by osteoporosis. Therefore, pig trotters also have a certain relieving effect on lower back and leg pain caused by osteoporosis and spinal degeneration.

5. Promote soft tissue repair

The collagen in pig trotters can promote the repair of soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons, helping to improve pain caused by ligament and soft tissue injuries. Pig trotters can provide some repair support for long-term waist and leg injuries or strains.

Summary:

Pig trotters, rich in collagen, elastin, minerals, and other components, have the effects of nourishing the liver and kidneys, strengthening muscles and bones, promoting blood circulation, and improving joint lubrication. These effects have a certain auxiliary therapeutic effect on relieving lower back and leg pain caused by factors such as liver and kidney deficiency, joint injury, rheumatism, and poor blood flow. Moderate consumption of pig trotters in daily diet can help alleviate discomfort in the lower back and legs, especially for those caused by soft tissue damage or degenerative changes in bones.
