Wild Astralagus (黄芪) for Hernias

Astralagus, or Huang Qi (黄芪), is one of the most widely used herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It belongs to the category of herbs that tonify Qi, and it is often used for the purpose of raising sunken Qi, as it has an upward tendency.

Huang Qi is a slightly warm herb that enters the Lung and Spleen meridians, and has a sweet taste. Some of the herb’s actions include:

• Tonifiying Qi and Blood

• Strengthening the Spleen and raises the Yang Qi of the Spleen and Stomach

• Tonifiying Wei Qi, stabilizing the Exterior and tonifying the Lungs

• Promotes urination and reduces edema

• Promotes the discharge of pus, generates flesh and expels toxins

• Generates Body Fluids

• Relieves numbness and pain

Huang Qi can be particularly supportive for Hernias, as evidenced by the following case study of one of Dr. Wu’s patients:

The 40 year old male patient exhibited the following symptoms: severe weakness, low energy, no physical strength, and a weak voice. He had an extremely high blood pressure largely due to alcoholism. He previously had surgery on his right side for a hernia. When he approached Dr. Wu, he had begun to have pain on his left side from hernia.

The patient stopped drinking alcohol, and Dr. Wu prescribed 80g Huang Qi (raw herb made into tea) daily, and to increase by 10g per day until he reached 200g daily. In addition, Dr. Wu added Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (补中益气汤).

Within 5 days, the patient’s voice was stronger and he felt less tired, and his hernia felt better.

Within 3 months, the patient’s blood pressure was normal!

For ONE WEEK ONLY, Astralagus is 30% off.
